Minimum age is 11, but recommended for slightly older owing to graphic examples.

“Stop the Bleed” is a broad nationwide initiative to bring basic training for how to respond to trauma/severe bleeding cases – in the same way that many people have taken CPR/AED basic training.

Scout Troop 577 is sponsoring this training which will be conducted at Centreville High School (6001 Union Mill Road, Clifton, VA  20124).  7pm – 9pm.  Wednesday, June 6.  Online registration required.

This is just useful info to know – regardless of how severe bleeding begins (car accident, home or camping injury, natural disaster, industrial accident, gunshot, etc.), it helps to know how to stop it until definitive care can be obtained.  Classic Wilderness/Remote First Aid stuff.  There is a maximum of 100 participants.  If you are interested, please do not delay in registering.

Here are two links to the course description for the Stop the Bleed program.  This is a nation-wide initiative.
