Mr. Ham and his wife Marjorie, became residents of LRR in 1993. He is a 1974 Northwestern University graduate of the McCormick School of Engineering, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

I spent nearly 40 years in the oil industry, beginning my career with Union Oil Company of California in 1974 before joining Mobil Oil Corporation in 1980; I retired from ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company, Fairfax, VA in 2013.

Me and my wife, both natives of North Carolina, have been married for 44 years and between us have three adult children who live in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and one locally, in Centreville, VA; we also have 8 grandchildren.

Over the course of my career, I engineered and managed small to mega-projects and other times served as Certified Energy Manager and Global Construction Safety Advisor for Global Construction Projects. I retired in April 2013 and now, along with my wife, volunteer at McLean Bible Church as a marriage mentor; mentor men on an individual basis; keep score at my granddaughter’s softball games, which my wife and daughter manage and coach; volunteer at Centreville High School; and plan trips in our motorhome.

I am currently a member of LRR’ s Board of Trustees; joining mid-term, in October 2015, to fill a vacancy.

When I lived in Lakewood, CA in the 1990’s, I was president of their HOA for a couple of years while also serving as president of a girls’ softball league. While serving as HOA president it was found that the reserve accounts were underfunded in the face of some major repairs needed in the 80-unit townhouse complex. As a result, I will remain diligent in ensuring items such as reserve account funding are properly maintained, while controlling costs to keep assessment increases minimal.

My goal is to bring my professional technical and managerial experience to bear on matters that affect fiscal responsibility not just for the immediate future but for the long term. Additionally, I will strive to ensure that Little Rocky Run’s member services continues to meet or exceed those of other, like, area communities.

I am currently serving as Secretary of the Little Rocky Run Homeowners Association Board of Trustees.
